How it works
With Offline finding switched on and a Samsung account, other Galaxy devices act as “Find Nodes” and report a lost item’s location to Samsung. You can encrypt offline locations with a 6-digit PIN.
Good to know
- Galaxy SmartTag2 works only with Galaxy phones and tablets. Galaxy phones can also use Google Find Hub trackers.
- Samsung announced a Galaxy SmartTag3 in September 2026 that also works with iPhones, but said it would go on sale in Korea and the US first, with other markets in 2027.
- Samsung says that if you think a device has been stolen you should not go to the location on the map, but contact the authorities.
